I started my first doodle cloth when I took Allie Aller's Craftsy crazy quilting class. That was about a 12 x 18 piece of fabric, back with Knit fusible webbing. To adapt it to my stitching band, I cut it lengthwise and sewed the two halves end to end, and then backed it. Luckily not too much is cut off. I had to make the backing a little bit bigger so that when the tube was sewn and pressed, it would still measure 6 inches wide to match the rest of it.
