Carol Doak's 50 Fabulous Paper Pieced Stars

I have been working on this with a group on the Quilting Board, and we are
doing one block per week.

Here are 49 of my 50 completed blocks, shown as a virtual quilt designed in

Quilt Pro 5 for Mac. The virtual quilt shows photos of the actual blocks.

I will QAYG in large sections using 3/4" sashing, with FMQ in each section.

Below is the 50th and final star, Wyoming.

  1. Wow! I stand in awe of you, paper piecing all those blocks. I would never have the staying power! It's beautiful, please FMQ QAYG - your FMQ is so fab, would be a shame to let an LAQer loose on it ;-) k3n x

  2. Thank you Kathryn! I think that after all this work, I will feel better about doing the whole thing myself.

I am 99% decided; I will use 3/4" sashing to put a tiny separation between the blocks, without adding to the size, FMQ in 4 to 6 manageable sections and then QAYG the sections.
